  1. Kime, MJ (1984) FEBS Letts. 175, 259-262. Title: "Assignment of resonances of exchangeable protons in the NMR spectrum of the complex formed by E.coli ribosomal protein L25 and uniformly nitrogen-15 enriched 5S RNA fragment" [Readers will note that this was part of the pioneering work on NMR spectroscopic studies of protein-nucleic acid interactions on solution samples.]
  2. Kime, MJ (1984) FEBS Letts. 173, 342-346. Title: "Assignment of resonances in the E.coli 5S RNA fragment proton NMR spectrum using uniform nitrogen-15 enrichment" [Readers with specialist scientific knowledge may note this use of uniform nitrogen-15 enrichment in NMR studies of biomacromolecules, and, in particular, for the exploitation of the heteronuclear spin-coupling between nitrogen-15 and protons. It is interesting to observe that many scientists have subsequently devoted themselves (in worthwhile experiments) to exploiting heteronuclear spin-coupling between 1/2 spin nuclei and protons (and other nuclei) of biomacromolecules (and polypeptides) with uniform isotopic enrichment of the (not proton) 1/2 spin heteronuclear isotope. Previously, interested scientists with the resources and the expertise had sought to selectively-enrich biomacromolecules with 1/2 spin heteronuclear isotopes at particular positions in molecules rather than to enrich uniformly.]
  3. Kime, MJ, Gewirth, DT, Moore, PB (1984) Biochemistry 23, 3559-3568 [Readers with specialist legal (jurisprudential) knowledge will recognise the surname "Gewirth". I understand my co-worker was the son of the professor of jurisprudence associated with what I recollect (I wonder how accurately) was known as the "American Realism" school of jurisprudence.]
  9. Kime, MJ, Moore, PB (1983) Federation of European Biochemical Societies Letters 153, 199-203 [Readers will note the quality of the high-field Fourier transform proton NMR spectra of (what were) biomacromolecules (not mere polypeptides or other relatively small molecules) in aqueous solution using the simple "twin-pulse" radiofrequency irradiation pulse sequence rather than the more elaborate and more demanding "Redfield pulse sequence" (which appears to have been so demanding that I do not believe I worked on any spectrometer to have performed it satisfactorily).]
  10. Kime, MJ, Moore, PB (1982) Nucleic Acids Research 10, 4973-4983
  11. Kime, MJ, Ratcliffe, RG, Williams, RJP, Loughman, BC (1982) J. Experimental Botany 33, 656-669
  12. Kime, MJ, Ratcliffe, RG, Loughman, BC (1982) J. Exp. Bot. 33, 670-681. Title: "The Application of 31P NMR to Higher Plant Tissue II. Detection of Intracellular Changes." [Readers may note that it was in studying potato tuber tissue (one of the several forms of higher plant tissue studied) by NMR for this study that it became apparent that the phytic acid (the chemical form in which phosphate is stored in potato tuber tissue and, of course, it has been known for decades if not longer that this was so but it appears to have been assumed that it was distributed more or less uniformly throughout the tuber) was localised in the pith/core tissue of the potato tuber and in the waxy looking connections radiating from the pith to the growth points of the tuber.]

  14. Kime, MJ, Ratcliffe, RG, Moore, PB, Williams, RJP (1980) European Journal of Biochemistry 110, 493-498. Title: "On the Renaturation of Ribosomal Protein L11."
